The common element in the territory over which runs the Wine Route Orcia is the landscape, the most characteristic and charming of Tuscany, perhaps the most beautiful countryside in the world. In 2004, UNESCO included the Val d’Orcia in the world heritage site, the first rural area to be awarded this recognition motives in calling it as “icon of the landscape.” Rolling hills, rows of cypresses, castles and abbeys, churches and convents, villages and cities, farms and roads that form a sort of “layer of history” adagiatosi on a geography that seems modeled on the measure. And the vine with his extraordinary “sanguis Jovis” divine Sangiovese has left deep traces of itself in the course of millennia nell’inestricabile visible link between the man and the wonderful land crossed by the river Orcia. The Etruscans were to import the screw from the Far East and even today the descendants of the mysterious and fascinating people are handed down from generation to generation the art of husbandmen. The Wine Road Orcia is an invitation to explore this territory, the life that flows with the rhythms of this land to live immersed in “a place of dreams.” Tip of the places where the human is still in harmony with nature. Who really wants to know this land must take into account that they can not do without it, to return in person or with the mind to the source of many emotions and characteristic charm of Tuscany, perhaps the most beautiful countryside in the world.
